Rural Security in the Winter Months

The MLA have recently issued advice to farmers and agricultural building owners, about the security of outbuildings when the clocks go back at the end of October. Its estimated that rural crime cost around £37.8 Billion in 2014!

Getting a Security Assessment is a vital step to making sure you do everything you can to protect your property. Fitting high quality and adequate security is not only a good deterrent, but also serves to make sure your insurance provider will cover you, should the worst happen. By looking at your property as though you were a thief, its possible to identify possible weak spots and also tempting belongings on display.

It’s also easy to overlook the maintenance of sheds and barns, so replacing rusty locks, padlocks and broken window panes, is very important. As is dealing with rotten wooden sills and door frames. Anything which makes the building weaker, will make it a more attractive target for potential thieves.
